Music manuscript and book collection of Alfred Denis Cortot, which included a blank piece of paper detached from the autograph score of the Ninth Symphony. "Most of the manuscripts of Cortot's collection were bought by Robert O Lehman in 1962, who deposited many of them in the Pierpont Morgan Library; some he presented to the New York Public Library. Many of the autograph letters of Cortot's collection were acquired by Comtesse de Chambure. Cortot's reference books were bought by H.L. de la Grange, Montreux, Switzerland. Much of the music theory, some music, and the Bouffon collection went to the Newberry Library, Chicago, the rest to Lexington" (cf. Folter, Private Libraries of Musicians and Musicologists).
