A style reflecting a state of the heart revealing simplicity or guilelessness which expresses "the gentle emotions of a soul in harmony with itself. Its melody is gently flowing, artless, its harmony simple and natural in its chords and passages, its motion uniform and mild, its modulations without bold skips and striking changes."
