J.P. Lyser made several drawings of Beethoven; these were probably made after the composer's death. They include: (a) Drawing of Beethoven walking on cobbled streets, published in 1833 in the journal Cacilia (Bettermann, p. 22); (b) pencil drawing showing a rather stout Beethoven, not a good likeness of his facial features (Bory, p. 199; Robbins-Landon, p. 340) (Vienna, GdM); (c and d) single sheet with a drawing of Beethoven's head (c) and another pencil drawing of Beethoven walking (d) (Bettermann, p. 21); (e) pen and ink drawing on one sheet showing Beethoven, Paganini, ETA Hoffmann, and Lyser himself (Bettermann, p. 23); (f) "Beethoven am Bach," drawing of Beethoven sitting outdoors by a stream, composing (Bekker, p. 68); (g) rough sketch of Beethoven standing in a coat and top hat, facing left (Bory p. 198).
